Some agents spend a fortune on seminars that leave them feeling inspired, but don’t actually teach much about the subject.

However, if you reverse engineer the process of trying the sell something (your services in this case), you will see that there is a simple way to attract more clients.

The answer is so obvious that some successful realtors may not even realize that they’re already doing it.

Luckily, you don’t have to attend a boring seminar to find out. In fact you don’t even have to pay a penny to find out because I’m about to tell you for free.

So, how do you attract clients if you’re a real estate agent?

Make them come to you!

Isn’t that the easiest way to sell something? To have people come to you instead of you having to chase after them?

“But, how do I do that?”

Well, I’m glad you asked. Here are some methods you can implement starting today.

 

Be Interesting

An interesting person can start great conversations. Great conversations can then lead to building rapport and trust, which significantly increase your chances of earning someone’s business.

If people think you are interesting (i.e. friendly, knowledgeable, personable, positive, etc.) and they like having conversations with you, then you have already set yourself up in a great position.

 

Explore

Get out there and try new things. It’s important to do something different every once in a while because it will help you understand things differently.

You will understand different viewpoints of people. It will also help you connect with more types of people, and perhaps much easier than before.

Travel somewhere new. A new city, a new state, a new country. Try a new sport. Eat at a different restaurant. Taste new food. Shop at different stores. Pick up a new hobby.

Every time you step out of your comfort zone you are bound to learn something new. Go and try something new, you might like it!

 

Learn from the Best

Spend time with people who you look up to. Find someone who is better than you at something and learn from them.

Identify the areas of your life that you want to improve on (come on, we all have some), and find somebody who has a better handle on it than you.

It could be something simple, like finding someone who makes amazing coffee because yours is never as good as Starbucks.

Or, it could be more in-depth, like finding a frequent gym-goer because you want to get in better shape.

The point is, always try to improve yourself. Through constant improvement, you will naturally expose yourself to new scenarios that will help you understand more people and connect with them better.

Before you label this tip as boring, hear me out.

Reading is an excellent way to learn. You do it everyday. Everything from newspapers, books, Facebook statuses, or awesome articles here at The Agent Life, every sentence you read offers a chance to learn something new.

The more you know, the more ways you will be able to communicate effectively and find some common ground with potential clients.

 

The best way to apply these tips while conversing with a client (or anyone for that matter) is not to start dead-end conversations. Instead, find out their interests and passions, ask questions to feel them out, and then use what you learned from your experiences to relate to them.

By doing that you will engage in a meaningful conversation that will attract ordinary people to become your customers. And as a bonus, this method might make your life an even more positive experience overall.

    Best way I know to attract more clients is…..to meet more people. The more people you meet, the more opportunities you have…to build trust and like-ability….the more likely people are to call you when they have a need for the largest real estate transaction in their life. Most people know 3-4 realtors, the key is to get them to call you, when they have the need.
