5 Productivity Hacks for Busy Agents
#1. Prospecting FSBOs / Expireds
This is often dreaded by most agents due to their (perceived) low conversion rate into listing appointment. However, that is the advantage of prospecting For Sale By Owners (FSBOs) and expired listings; low competition. Prospecting time on the phone shouldn’t take too long if you do it properly. This is also a great way to keep your prospecting skills sharp, and to market yourself as a listing agent. It’s as simple as picking up the phone, and dialing away!
#2. Scheduling Open Houses
The quickest way to find new customers to work with is by scheduling successful open houses. Ideally, you want to hold an open house on one of your listings; this is a great way to market your listing and maximizes your chances of getting a double sided commission! But if you don’t currently have a listing, any marketable home that’s listed by another agent will do just fine. Make sure you schedule it for the weekend, or after work hours on weekdays to get the most amount of potential customers stopping by.
#3. Self-Improvement / Education
It’s easy to neglect improving your skills while you’re too busy bouncing around between appointments and trying to get that next listing. If you find yourself with nothing to do at the office, make sure you spend some time learning new techniques to boost your business. This is one of the most rewarding tasks you can do, mentally, and financially.
#4. Upgrading Equipment
Thanks to technology, almost any of our daily tasks can be simplified or made easier in some way. New gadgets and software are released constantly, and the choices can be overwhelming. Choosing the right piece of technology can help you increase your productivity and make your use of time more efficient.
Exercise is important for the body. Constantly sitting in front of a computer, driving to appointments, and working at the office can be really detrimental to agents’ health. A little downtime at the office can be the perfect opportunity to hop over to the gym or go for a walk. You don’t have to lift weights or work out til you’re drenched in sweat; a little exercise and eating well is enough to keep your body in shape. Try it, your body will thank you!
